Did April’s showers really bring May flowers? It’s a questionable thought when the weather in YYC is nearly impossible to predict. Even though this season’s weather was a total hiccup at times, I was still able to show off the true identity of May through this floral top from Dynamite Clothing.

On a side note: I can’t be the only one who feels like talking about YYC weather is actually a legitimate topic, not just an awkward ice breaker. Needless to say, that won’t stop your average Canadian from leaving the house; No matter the snow, no matter the desert heat.

On this particular day, the weather called for high temperatures. So you know what that means…ice cream and less clothing. With respect to the local creameries in town, Made By Marcus currently has my heart.

The gourmet ice cream shop is very quaint and has a variety of flavours to choose from. Not to mention, the aesthetics of the entire store is on point! I particularly enjoyed the unicorn sundae, but if you’re in town I’d definitely suggest making a pit-stop to taste their flavours. It’s worth the try!

I’ll admit, the African in me did not feel like the heat had reached an adequate level enough to wear shorts, but this light floral top and pants from Dynamite sufficed. Nearly half my closet is from this brand. Their wide-variety of business casual clothes that they stock were what caught my eyes. But from time-to-time when I want to dress-down, their versatile range of camis are my go-tos!

I’m not much of a pink wearer, but this year I’ve taken it upon myself to infuse it into my wardrobe. Life’s too short too short to not add a little spice. So expect more colour-infused outfits to come this May. With that being said, I feel as if there is a shift in fashion trends to bring colour back into wear.

It’s the 90s all over again…so why not basket in all the rainbow-filled glory.
