With plenty of projects at hand, I’ve finally found some down-time. During this interlude I’ve been reading a little bit about color theory…
June is finally in full-swing, it means that summer is nearly here! I couldn’t be more excited. I hope you’re all doing well. Having said that, I know for myself that I’ve been stuck indoors quite a bit as of recent…this thing called work—it’s a huge responsibility, but it’s taking away my time in the sun to enjoy this beautiful weather!

Don’t know what color theory is?
Well here’s a quick run down in one simple sentence: it’s a study that explains how humans perceive colour with respect to mixes, visual effects, and body guidance. Obviously it goes a lot deeper than that, but that’s just the gist of a much larger concept.
Notably, my wardrobe has lacked colour over the past few years. I’m a big neutrals lover. Greys, blacks, more shades of greys and blacks, are my go-to’s. I might have mentioned it before, but my goal is to go 180 this summer and infuse whites and colours into my attire. Starting with the lack of red I own, I purchased this lovely red jumpsuit from H&M about a year ago (I can’t be the only one who does this) and I finally put it to use.
I’m definitely a jumpsuit girl in comparison to skirts and dresses. Having the body type that I possess, I feel it accentuates my long legs. It is also less of a hassle when it comes to coordinating pieces together. It’s an outfit that’ll have the room turn heads when you walk in!

With it being one of two red pieces I own, I most definitely feel as if I’m going to go out and purchase more of this colour. Maybe it’s all in my head due my recent spark of interest in colour theory, but I feel like red boosts your confidence. It’s a very passionate, strong, aggressive colour and it represents strength, love, and vitality. All of which are positive competencies.
I mean, if a colour can bring you these components, why not wear it! Especially if you’re in the pursuit of becoming a business man or woman. It’s probably one of the easier ways to managing your mindset and outward look to the world.

By all means, I am not a psychologist or a doctor, but I believe that red is a natural stimulant. A colour that has the ability to impact your senses, increase your blood pressure, and who even knows, it could affect the way in which you react on daily occurrences!
When utilizing these capabilities, I think it’s so important to use it to build courage and confidence in yourself. When days aren’t so bright or you’ve been stuck in a cold office all day, put on a red shirt and go. It’s the least you can do to combat the negative energies that the day might entail.
